We are very excited to let you know that our school will be participating in the "Daily Mile" programme in partnership with South Education Health and Social Care Trust. The Introduction of the Daily Mile is a part of a wider need nationally to support children to meet (at least) the minimum daily guidelines for physical activity (60 minutes, moderate to vigorous).

Mrs Elaine Wyllie founded this programme in February 2012. The simple aim is for the pupils to participate in 15 minutes of physical activity a day with the hope that they will complete a mile . The pupils can participate at their own level whether they walk , jog or run

Each day all children in the school will be given fifteen minutes outside with their teacher to walk , jog or run with the hope that they will complete one mile. Each child will take part in their own ability level. We know that as the children take part every day their fitness levels will improve and as it becomes a habit it will become easier for them to take part over time.

Junior School will compete their daily mile by walking 4 laps around the outside of the school.

Middle/Senior/E.E.C/Oak department will complete their daily mile by walking 13 laps around the outside of the M.U.G.A football pitch
